"SONA RUPA CD: Chalisa means forty and all are composed of forty verses. Each is dedicated to a specific deity and when chanted with feeling and devotion, it leads to the spiritual upliftment of the devotee and consequently, to the betterment of society. Aarti is performed at the end of all ritualistic worship accompanied by the ringing of bells. The lighted lamp is held in the right hand and is waved in a clockwise circling motion that illuminates the deity while the prayers are being recited. The significance of this lies in the fact that our minds become focused when we see the illumined form of the Lord in all his beauty.
